Friday Five: Rose Gold Edition

October 9, 2015

Happy Friday, everyone!!!

+ iPhone

My new iPhone was delivered yesterday! I’m so so so excited. I feel so fancy with the rose gold backing. This phone could not have come a moment later; my old phone’s battery has been so worthless that I literally couldn’t do more than check my mail and maybe Twitter before it would crash. If I got 20 minutes of use out of it without needing a charger it was a good day. Thank goodness I can rejoin the world of regular iPhone users and won’t need to carry extra external chargers in my purse at all times.

+ NYC Recs

Adam and I are off to New York next week! I’m pumped. I’ve only been once and it was for a work conference, so I didn’t do anything too exciting. Adam has never been. We’re going to be like country bumpkins. On Saturday, Adam actually has a developer conference so I’ll be flying solo. Please send any recs for restaurants or things to do (together or on my own). We’re staying in the East Village if there are places we should check out in the neighborhood. Don’t worry, Momofuku is already on the list. I really want to eat as much as possible during this trip.

I do also want to see a show on Broadway during my day alone. Should I go with something classic (Wicked, Lion King) or something more exciting (Kinky Boots, Avenue Q)? Or should I see The Book of Mormon again? So many questions.

+ Wedding FlowersIMG_1477

As you could tell from yesterday’s post, I’m knee-deep in wedding flowers. I am loving it. I’m doing the florals for my friend Sarah’s wedding tomorrow and it is awesome. I can’t wait to get all of my work and designs out there. I also can’t wait for the wedding so I can see two good and wonderful friends get married.

+ Luther

Apparently I’m on a British Crime TV show kick because I just started Luther this week. I missed Idris Elba in my life. Luther seems interesting, but I’m still firmly on Team Stringer Bell.

+ 4 Looks

Just four looks today so I can schedule this post to publish early. I’ll share Friday’s outfit next week. If I keep sharing at all. I can’t decide whether this little experiment is helping me plan and improve my dress wear or if I’m just wasting more time in the morning taking a picture. Also, I blame Monday’s hot mess outfit on the rain.

Let's stay in touch!

how to increase the longevity of your battery – don’t over charge and don’t use those OEM (car) chargers. i have NEVER done that and i have never had any battery issues. my husband doesn’t believe me when i say these things because he’s all “the batteries these days don’t allow over charging etc” but THEY DO….and FYI, he’s always had battery issues, even with his new phones while my battery is still awesome with my older phone.
the added heat generated from the plug on an already-charged battery will wear your battery down so it won’t be able to hold a charge as long. over time, the ability for the battery to hold a long-term charge will decrease to a point that it will drain fast. the second it’s charged, take the plug out and leave it to drain to about 40% before plugging it back in. every so often, let it drain to 0% and then fully charge to 100%.

Totally loving your new rose gold iphone! I hate how the iphone batteries don’t last long though. So frustrating. I have the 6 and I’m already noticing it starting to lose some of it’s staying power. And look at all of those flowers! So pretty and that’s so sweet you’re doing them for a friend! Have a great weekend girl! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

I’m so jealous that you got the Rose Gold iPhone. I want one so badly. You are gonna have so much fun in NYC. You need to go to Laduree in Soho and have brunch. It’s so good. As for stores, I love Muji and Topshop in Soho. I also love Barneys on Madison Ave and no trip is complete without a visit to Bergdorf Goodman! Have a wonderful time!!

So jealous of your new iPhone!!! It will be mine in January πŸ˜‰ And a NYC trip is so exciting! I’ve only been on a couple day trips there but I will say to definitely try and visit the 9/11 memorial – it’s amazing and something everyone should see. Have fun & good luck this weekend!!

Endless recs for NYC.. One of our favorite date nights on our last trip was dinner at Perla (a hidden gem off an alley between 6th and Bleeker) and then the late show at The Comedy Cellar (advance tickets needed). Also, Bread and Butter for breakfast croissants or black and white cookies. There are multiple locations so if you see one, pop in! Y’all will have so much fun.
    Have a great weekend!!
